Community Council

Community partnerships offer unique opportunities to draw from the respective strengths and expertise of community members to elevate the cities and ecosystems the partners represent. The TUII Community Council will seek input from members to better understand how TUII can support and create positive economic impact specifically for the immediate New Orleans community.

Through its members, the Community Council will facilitate idea generation and seek ways to support entrepreneurship within the New Orleans region. Council members will consist of individuals who have a vested interest in growing the economy through commercialization of technologies, business creation, business growth & retention, and while severe wealth & health disparities exist along racial lines – a vested interest in growing black familial wealth in New Orleans. The Community Council is facilitated by the Assistant Vice President for Industry & Community Partnerships at TUII and the Associate Director of Career Education and Life Design at the Tulane University Phyllis M. Taylor Center for Social Innovation and Design Thinking is an additional Tulane campus liaison member.
