Tulane's TRICS Summit Showcases Innovative Research and Cutting-Edge Technology Across Disciplines

The Tulane University Office of Research and the Tulane University Innovation Institute will host the 2nd Annual Tulane Research, Innovation, and Creativity Summit (TRICS) on April 24th and 25th at the Tulane Uptown Campus. The summit brings bright minds from different departments, schools, and units to showcase their exceptional contributions to research, innovation, and creativity. The event will offer poster sessions, lectures, and presentations.
Participate in TRICS: Abstracts and artistic submissions are due by Friday, March 29, 2024. In addition to the prizes traditionally awarded at TRICS, this year, there will be two new prizes offered. The TRICS Innovation and Societal Impact Award is a $1,000 cash prize awarded to the student, trainee (postdocs, residents, and fellows), or faculty poster that best illustrates how their research impacts society. The TRICS Innovation and Technology Development Award is a $1,000 cash prize awarded to the poster that best represents how the research could be commercialized through technology development. Open MIC (Medical Innovation Challenge) Night: As part of the TRICS event, the Tulane University Innovation Institute, the Deming Department of Medicine, and the Sr. VP & Dean’s Office at Tulane University School of Medicine will host the third Open MIC Night, a competition for innovators to pitch their ideas to solve healthcare problems on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, from 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm in the LBC. This competition is open to anyone at Tulane with innovative medical ideas. Participants will compete for up to $2,500 in cash prizes and mentoring support. Also, to kick off TRICS, the Tulane Innovation Institute will host our 2nd Faculty Innovation Research Mixer on Tuesday, April 23, at 5:00 pm. This interdisciplinary cross-campus event will invite Tulane faculty to hear about innovative research and potential partnership opportunities across the university.
