Biography
Scott serves as Venture Lab Program Director at the Tulane Innovation Institute, where he fosters cross-campus partnerships that expand participation in Venture Lab and commercialization programs. He also directs the Founder Lab, recruiting and pairing Entrepreneurs-In-Residence (EIRs) and founders with promising Tulane technologies to launch new startups. In this role, he helps guide venture development by leveraging resources such as the SBIR/STTR and NSF I-Corps programs, preparing startups to secure investment and scale their impact.
Originally from Oxford, Mississippi, Scott has lived in New Orleans for more than a decade and has spent nine years at Tulane. He brings extensive experience in program management, relationship development, client discovery, and institutional advancement. Before joining the Tulane Innovation Institute, Scott worked in Tulane's Office of Advancement, where he helped build and lead the Grateful Patient and Family Philanthropy Program for Tulane's health operations. During this time, he earned an MBA from Tulane University's A.B. Freeman School of Business with a specialization in Strategic Management and Innovation.
Outside of his work at TUII, Scott is an avid reader, an advocate for environmental sustainability, and a multi-instrumentalist who enjoys playing folk, country, and blues music. He also enjoys going to the park with his dog, Cooper.
