Biography

Lin has extensive experience in prosecuting patents in several technical areas, including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, chemistry, and advanced materials. Additional specialties include medical diagnostics, immunotherapeutics, drug formulation and delivery, nanotechnology, microfluidics, microscopy, chromatography, and industrial chemical and biochemical processes. He also provides opinions, litigation support, and patent strategic advice, and is experienced in patent due diligence and post grant proceedings. Lin’s practice focuses on providing efficient and insightful patent drafting and prosecution for universities, early stage companies, and large corporations internationally.

Prior to law, Lin’s experience included an academic research career in the U.S. (Assistant Professor of Physiology at Tulane University School of Medicine), Germany (University of Ulm), and Austra (University of Linz) teaching of biophysics, physiology, and pharmacology, and grant review administration at the National Institutes of Health. As a patent lawyer, Lin has over 25 years of experience working at law firms in the Boston and Washington, D.C. area as well as serving as in house patent attorney at a major biotechnology company.
