Biography
Over fifty years’ experience in facilities design, project management and offshore safety. 16 years at Shell Oil Company and founded Paragon Engineering Services 1980-2007. Paragon was sold to AMEC. Now consultant to the oil and gas industry. Elected to National Academy of Engineering (2005), and National Academy of Construction (2014). Registered PE. Served on the Marine Board of National Academies, the Boards of Society of Petroleum Engineering and The Academy of Medicine, Engineering and Science of Texas, and Gulf Research Program. Chair of the NAC Safety Committee, member Steering Committee of Global Energy Mentors, Trustee of Southwest Research Institute and Board of McLaren Engineering Group. Co-author of two textbooks on production facilities. SPE distinguished lecturer, 2003 Houston Engineer of the Year, 2013 Distinguished Achievement Award of the Offshore Technology Conference. Taught facilities engineering at the University of Houston and Technion University. Served on the advisory councils of Cornell and Tulane.
