GWIN Mentor Opportunities:

Startup Team Mentors

Modeled after MIT’s proven Venture Mentoring Service, this initiative pairs 4-5 GWIN mentors with early-stage startup teams to expertly navigate the complexities of the startup process.

Estimated Time Commitment: 8 hours of mentor training.

Provost’s Proof of Concept Reviewer

Technical and business experts assess applications for a $50,000 technology development grant.

Estimated Time Commitment: 10 hours per semester.

Pitch Contest Expert Judge

Startup/Investor experts evaluate in-person pitch competitions offered annually.

Estimated Time Commitment: 4-5 hours per event.

Ad Hoc/One-on-One Mentor

Engage with innovative faculty and students seeking guidance on specific entrepreneurial challenges in personalized one-on-one sessions, whether in-person or virtually.

Estimated Time Commitment: 6 hours per semester.

Webinar/Seminar Speaker

Share your compelling narrative, passion for your work, or entrepreneurial expertise through TUII’s webinar series.

Estimated Time Commitment: 1 hour per event.

NSF I-Corps Industry Mentor

Offer invaluable insights to early-stage startups as they explore avenues to commercialize products or technologies arising from Tulane academic research.

Estimated Time Commitment: 8 hours of mentor training.
