Programs and Resources

The Tulane Innovation Institute provides diverse programs tailored for individuals at different stages of their startup journey, from initial ideas written on a cocktail napkin to startup early-stage companies seeking seed funding to grow and scale. While some programs are exclusive to the Tulane University community, many services are available to the greater New Orleans residents and beyond. Tulane Ventures welcomes ventures from across the state, and our webinars are accessible to anyone with an internet connection. Programs for Everyone

Submit your idea to the Tulane Innovation Idea Bank. Get scheduled for a session, and let's turn your idea into reality.

Expert guests discuss startup marketing, business legal structure, IP protection, and fundraising, sharing valuable insights on these essential concepts.

Mentors provide business expertise for startups, including ad-hoc mentoring and a year-long team program.

Students from the School of Liberal Arts, Tulane Law School, and A.B. Freeman School of Business will assist local startups.

An entrepreneurship education event open to the entire community. Participants will prototype and pitch ideas in a three-day team competition.

Community happy hours celebrate the New Orleans ecosystem and support local businesses and organizations.

This pitch competition offers innovators prize money, investor exposure, and connections to fellow innovators.

A program like an accelerator will last 8-12 weeks for founder teams and will teach requirements for competitive venture funding.

Tulane Venture companies receive funding, consulting, mentoring, guidance, and partnership to grow and scale in Louisiana.

Local and international resources available to assist you in your entrepreneurial journey.

An after-school program inspiring local high school students to start businesses and become successful entrepreneurs.

Win up to $3,000 at the Open MIC (Medical Innovation Challenge) Night.  This event allows participants to pitch idea-stage concepts for solving human health, medical, and wellness challenges.

This event showcases the best research, innovation, and creativity from disciplines, departments, units, and schools across Tulane University.

Offered twice a year, this grant provides up to $50,000 to help advance promising ideas and technologies to become market-ready. To date, $540k has been granted.

Our team works with researchers and innovators to help you disclose your invention and file for a provisional / non-provisional patent.

Program and Resources for Faculty

We foster an innovative mindset by assisting faculty in cross-collaborating on their research across domains at two mixer events per year.

We provide grant funding and workshops to support Tulane faculty in integrating innovation and entrepreneurship activities into their curriculum.

The TUII Fellowship Program is a three-year postdoc program focused on technology commercialization and innovation ecosystem development.
