RhinoBVM is an innovative resuscitation mask for use in the prehospital environment. To use the standard manual resuscitator currently, two rescuers are required: one to seal the mask against the patient’s face and the other rescuer to squeeze the resuscitator bag. In comparison to the full face mask the RhinoBVM nasal mask only requires one rescuer as the mask can be sealed against the face with one hand. In comparison, to the full face mask, the RhinoBVM is: 1) Easier to seal against the face than the full face mask. 2) Can be used by one rescuer compared to the full face mask which requires two rescuers 3) Can be used on both adult and pediatric patients. 4) Can ventilate in the neutral position which is difficult with the full face mask. 5) Easier to use by rescuers with smaller hands.
Why Startup Team Mentoring? "We are looking for assistance in bringing the RhinoBVM to market. We are at a crossroads with the company: whether to partner with a device company or to manufacture the device, perform a small clinical trial, and bring it to market ourselves. We now need the resources to bring the finish."
