Glass Half Full specializes in collecting glass from the region, processing it into sand, and selling it for various industries such as coastal restoration, construction, and sandblasting. There are three ways we collect glass: through paid residential and commercial pickups, as well as through our drop-off program where anyone can bring us their glass for free. Once we collect the glass, we process it at our facility in New Orleans. This involves a technical process through which we convert 2 tons of glass per hour into sand and gravel. Subsequently, we sell the sand and gravel to various industries, with the primary focus being on coastal restoration.
Why Startup Team Mentoring? "The goal of Glass Half Full is to expand our operations and research to areas that do not have glass recycling and may also face coastal erosion. We would greatly benefit from mentors who could help us grow from a local, 15-person operation to a regional or national company."
