Jonathan Everett

Pastor Jonathan Michael Everett the seventh child of twelve was born May 13, 1985 in New Orleans, LA.  Pastor Everett graduated from John Ehret High School in 2003.  He accepted Christ as his personal Savior at a young age. 

While under the leadership of the late Pastor Emmitt B. Watson of Little St. John Baptist Church, Pastor Everett at 13 years of age accepted the call to ministry.  On April 16, 2004, after years of study and preparation, under the leadership of Pastor Lawrence St’ Cyre of Providence Missionary Baptist Church Pastor Jonathan Everett, was ordained to preach the gospel of our lord and Savior Jesus Christ.   

While serving faithfully as the associate minister to Pastor St.Cyre, Pastor Everett coordinated city wide youth revivals for youth of all ages.  God spoke to Pastor Everett’s heart to let him know that the time had come to go further with the plans that God had for his life.  Being obedient to God’s word Pastor Everett relocated to the state of Maryland, where he served faithfully under the leadership of Don De Juan Massey, Pastor of Progressive Church Ministries.  In addition to his duties as the assistant Pastor, he served as the Dean of Students at the Church’s Educational Facility.  Pastor Everett has been afforded the opportunity of extensive travel to preach the word of God; throughout the United States, the Bahamas, Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Haiti. 

During his tenure in the state of Maryland, Pastor Everett was affiliated with Collective Banking Group of Maryland, St. Charles County Ministerial Alliance, Youth Ministers Alliance of DC and Vicinity, and the Southern Baptist Convention of Maryland & Delaware.  Pastor Everett was appointed by the Southern Baptist Convention to develop Youth Leaders in various seminars around the United States. 

Again God spoke to Pastor Everett’s heart to let him know that the time had come to return home.  He relocated back to New Orleans where God’s blessings were bestowed upon him in the form of an appointment as Senior Pastor of Rock of Ages Baptist Church.  In his first year of Church leadership this dynamic young leader has worked tirelessly to create a church with a vision and mission that includes church members and community members.  Because of Pastor Everett’s ability to lead effectively many of the church’s accomplishments can be attributed to his leadership skills.  Over 100 people joined the church in the first year of his pastorate. Rock of Ages Baptist Church is one the fastest growing churches in the city of New Orleans.  

Pastor Everett is a dedicated husband and a proud father.  He is faithful to his church and their ministries.  He still finds time to preach the word of God at various youth conferences and revivals.  Pastor Everett was appointed the Youth Director aboard the One Love Gospel Cruise for two years.   However he’s dedicated to the work at Rock of Ages, where on any given Sunday morning his congregation can be found eagerly anticipating his fiery sermon.  Pastor Everett recognizes that each and every time he is called to bring a word he is afforded another opportunity to reach a soul for the kingdom of God.
