Biography
Brett A. Hurt is an influential entrepreneur, investor, and author known for building multiple transformative businesses. Brett lives in Austin and has been married to Debra for 29 years. They have two children, Yuzu (16) and Rachel (20), a current Tulane triple-major student. He's the CEO of Love Conquers Fear, his new holding company focused on his highest utility to help humanity make it to the Age of Abundance for All. He was most recently the CEO and co-founder of data.world, which raised over $150 million, grew to be a global company with customers in all major verticals (from federal to financial services). data.world was acquired by ServiceNow on 7/7, which is now foundational for their enterprise AI platform. His entrepreneurial journey includes co-founding Bazaarvoice, where he led its unicorn IPO and growth into a top public SaaS company in social commerce, and Coremetrics, which IBM acquired for approximately $300 million. Additionally, Brett co-owns Hurt Family Investments (HFI) with Debra, managing a diverse portfolio of 147 startups. As an Aspen Institute Henry Crown Fellow, he authored The Entrepreneur’s Essentials, a free online resource for aspiring innovators, where readers can engage with the content through AI. Brett's remarkable achievements have established him as a leading figure among contemporary entrepreneurs, and Goldman Sachs recently named him one of the Most Exceptional Entrepreneurs of 2022.
